The incident occurred prior to a match between Jahn Regensburg and Magdeburg at the Avent Arena. Dr. Harlass-Neuking, who has been the team doctor for SSV Jahn Regensburg since July 1995, ran onto the field to block the Magdeburg players, ensuring their safety and allowing medical personnel to attend to the collapsed fan. The quick-thinking doctor was able to successfully resuscitate the supporter, who was subsequently taken to hospital and made a full recovery.
