Gabbia Injury: Milan’s Relief After Medical Tests

Details

AC Milan’s defender Matteo Gabbia has been diagnosed with a hyperextension trauma of the left knee, following a suspected injury during the Serie A match against Sassuolo on Sunday. The Italian centre-back was forced to be substituted in the 2-2 draw, prompting medical checks on Monday morning.
According to multiple sources in Italy, Gabbia has avoided a serious injury involving the meniscus or knee ligaments, which has brought relief to the Rossoneri. The medical team has ruled out capsuloligamentous and meniscal injuries, providing a more positive outlook for the player’s recovery.

Rehabilitation and Return to Action

Gabbia has already begun his rehabilitation program in Milanello, with the aim of returning to action as soon as possible. However, the Italian centre-back is likely to miss this week’s Supercoppa Italiana semifinal against Napoli, which will be played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday, December 18.
Milan hope that Gabbia will recover in time for a Serie A match against Verona on December 28 or even the potential Supercoppa Final on December 22.
