The second game of the day pits last year’s MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, against the 21-year-old, 7ft 5in centre, Victor Wembanyama. The Thunder, who have picked up where they left off, have just two losses and the best record in the league. Williams praised both Gilgeous-Alexander and Wembanyama, calling them “special and unique.”

Dallas Mavericks @ Golden State Warriors

Steph Curry’s style of play will be put to the test against the abilities of 18-year-old Cooper Flagg, who broke the NBA record for most points by an 18-year-old in late November. Curry’s reunion with former team-mate Klay Thompson adds an interesting aspect to this game.

Houston Rockets @ LA Lakers

One of the glitziest games of the Christmas Day schedule sees LeBron James’ Lakers take on the Houston Rockets.
