Lightning Strikes Twice: Jayden Schaper Wins Again in Mauritius

South African Golfer Secures Second DP World Tour Title in a Row

In a stunning display of skill and determination, Jayden Schaper has won his second DP World Tour title in as many weeks, following up his maiden victory at the Alfred Dunhill Championship with a thrilling play-off eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. The 24-year-old South African golfer has capped off a sensational end to the calendar year, finishing the year on a high note.
Schaper’s victory came after a hole-out eagle at the second play-off hole, securing his second win in a row. His previous win, also in a play-off, came just seven days ago at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, where he chipped in to take the title to a play-off before claiming the victory with a superb eagle.
The AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open saw Schaper start the final round two shots off the lead but fire an eagle and six birdies in a flawless 64 to make the play-off. He then produced fireworks at the second extra hole to beat his American opponent, Ryan Gerard, who closed with a 66 and has the consolation prize of finishing the year in the world’s top 50 and securing an invitation to the 2026 Masters.
Schaper’s win is a testament to his hard work and dedication to his craft. “I could not have asked for anything better,” he said. “Christmas is going to be good this year, and the new year. It’s just unreal.” He also expressed his gratitude for the support he has received, saying, “It’s just such a great week to finish the year off like this. It has been such a good year. I think 2025 is going to be probably the best season of my career.”
The DP World Tour resumes in 2026 with the Dubai Invitational on January 16-19, the start of the International Swing. Sky Sports continues to be the home of golf, with the majors, PGA Tour, DP World Tour, LPGA Tour, Ladies European Tour, and more all exclusively live.

Final Standings

The top two finishers, Jayden Schaper and Ryan Gerard, were five shots clear of South Africa’s Casey Jarvis at 17 under. England’s John Parry finished in a two-way tie for fifth on 15 under after a final-round 68.
