Egypt Unveils Final 28-Man Squad for AFCON 2025
Details
Egypt’s national football team has announced its final 28-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. The tournament is set to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Egyptian manager Hossam Hassan has made no changes to the roster since the December training camp, with the exception of a few notable returns. Midfielder Imam Ashour makes his comeback after a six-month absence due to injury and a technical decision. Mostafa Fathi and Ahmed Eid also return to the squad after missing the last camp due to fitness issues.
However, several recent call-ups did not make the final cut, including Ahmed Nabil “Kouka”, Nabil Emad, and Taher Mohamed Taher. Mohamed Abdelmonem of Nice misses out due to ongoing rehabilitation from an ACL injury.
